Cooper City Optimist Softball is run by a committed group of volunteer parents that share the same vision and goal. We are dedicated to the development of the sport of softball from four years old through high school seniors. We strive to teach and enhance the fundamentals of the sport at the youth level so players may develop a life-long love of the game. We offer opportunities to participate and advance in the sport for youth recreational and competitive players.
Our recreational program (or "Rec") softball is open to every child wanting to play softball. It is designed to provide a fun atmosphere, where players can both learn the game and develop the skills necessary to play it well. With our main emphasis is on having fun. The philosophy of recreation is to create a fun environment that players learn the basics of softball, rules and teamwork. Recreational softball is a great opportunity for beginners and experienced players who want limited competition and a more relaxed atmosphere with emphasis on having fun.
